Centennial Arms Development
Modernizing and Expanding Centennial Arms, Strengthening Our Community
New homes, renewed spaces, and a stronger future for Evart.
Evart Housing Commission along with Edison Community Partners are reinvesting in one of the community’s most important housing assets—Centennial Arms.
Through a major two-phase redevelopment, 109 existing homes will be fully renovated and 36 brand-new apartments added—all within the current Centennial Arms property. These improvements will ensure that families, seniors, and local workers have access to safe, high-quality, and affordable housing close to where they work and live.
What’s Changing
Work is underway to modernize the 109 existing homes at Centennial Arms, many of which are more than 40 years old. Each apartment will receive major upgrades—new kitchens, bathrooms, flooring, appliances and fixtures—all designed to improve comfort, safety, and energy efficiency for residents.
What’s Coming
On open space within the existing property, six new walk-up apartment buildings will add 36 two- and three-bedroom homes designed for Evart’s working families. These new workforce housing units will feature:
In-unit laundry and energy-efficient appliances
Modern layouts with added storage and central air
Patios and shared green space
Rooftop solar for energy efficiency
Shared Spaces and Community Amenities
When complete, all residents will enjoy new or upgraded amenities including:
Clubhouse with community and craft rooms
Exercise room, playground, picnic area, and outdoor gathering space
Laundry facilities, exterior storage and upgraded lighting and security
Ample free parking plus optional carports
Why it Matters
Evart’s rental market remains tight—occupancy averages 97 percent, and more than half of renters are considered cost-burdened. The Centennial Arms redevelopment preserves existing affordable housing and creates new options for the people who make Evart work: our community’s caregivers, manufacturing employees, retirees, and young families looking to put down roots.
When local families thrive, so does Evart. This project helps make that possible.
